Working Together for Safe and Sustainable ChemistryPartnership to foster industry and startups collaborations in chemical innovation

With the shared goal of fostering innovation in Safe and Sustainable Chemistry and connecting stakeholders across the entire value chain, the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) and Change Chemistry will work closely together going forward. One of the partnership`s main objectives is to align interests and efforts of industry players and start-ups in Sustainable Chemistry. Dr. Alexis Bazzanella, Director of the ISC3 Innovation Hub, and Jason Pearson, Executive Director of Change Chemistry, signed the joint Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their respective organisations.

Both organisations pursue a number of common goals and carry out complementary activities to foster innovation. Joining forces and leveraging synergies holds great potential for the partners themselves, for start-ups, SMEs and their innovations, and ultimately for Safer and more Sustainable Chemistry, said Bazzanella. ISC3 has a strong track record in supporting start-ups and raising awareness of Sustainable Chemistry worldwide. Change Chemistry brings partnerships across the chemical sector and along value chains, from chemical manufacturing and retail to brand owners. The result is a strong partnership, Pearson added.

As part of their strategic cooperation, ISC3 and Change Chemistry aim to exchange knowledge and expertise while strengthening each other’s innovation ecosystems. Together, they will support industry value chains and entrepreneurs in advancing safer and more sustainable innovation. Key areas of cooperation will include joint events, such as industry discussion roundtables to identify pressing challenges and opportunities in safe and sustainable innovation, startup innovation competitions, and virtual matchmaking events connecting industry and startups.
