Azmath has a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology from the University of Calicut in India and MBA in Financial Analysis and Investment from the University of Connecticut (UCONN) in the US. He has over 14 years of work experience in various fields of entrepreneurship, business development, equity valuation as well as in product and project management. He has also experience with Mentoring as he had the opportunity to be part of the Connecticut Centre of Entrepreneurship and in Life Sciences Initiative (ELSI) from 2015 to 2016.

Michele da Silva-Wagner has an MBA in Project Management as well as Master of Risk Assessment & Sustainability Management. She has more than 15 years of professional experience in different areas from finance to project manager. Since 2017 she has been working as an expert in the Horizon Europe Program of the European Union.
What fascinates Michele about mentoring is seeing ideas come true, companies being created, acquiring their first clients and scaling-up . Through her experience she can help start-ups in all phases of development while keeping the focus on sustainability.

Marwa obtained her PhD degree in Environmental design with a specialization in Energy and Environmental systems at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. She has over 8 years of experience working with the life cycle sustainability assessment method including environmental, economic and social assessment focusing on the methodological aspects as well as the practical application with high number of peer-reviewed publications on the topic. Implementing research results into a practical tool that benefit everyone, Marwa with her team have launched their start-up “TOSSA Sustainability Services” producing a commercial software tool for complete sustainability assessment and providing other services including consultancy services and training on different areas of life cycle sustainability assessment, social life cycle assessment, ESG and other related areas. She is now excited to share her passion in sustainability assessment and systematic thinking with the start-ups encouraging them to achieve their goals while managing their sustainability impacts on the environment and all stakeholder groups.

Samuel Opoku has worked with and supported over 300 tech and non-tech start-ups and entrepreneurs/ brands in Ghana and other African countries over the past 6 years. He has also started, failed and succeeded at many ventures of his own. Samuel is founder of Start.Up Lounge Africa, which is a management consulting firm that provides business development services to start-ups, SMEs and Enterprise support organizations. He has deep passion for supporting young African entrepreneurs to achieve their desired business and professional goals, and to impact positively the environment as well.

Gideon Rath focuses on topics such as working within a team and with external partners: agile working, effective collaboration, business development, scale-up or finding the right partners. He worked in different application fields of chemistry and has deep knowledge on the food and life-science sector. As an Innovation Manager, he regularly supports and advices innovation projects.

What motivates Gideon to be a mentor, is the experience of being mentored in the past and he wants to giveback by passing on his knowledge to other mentees. He believes in lifelong learning, so others can learn from him, and he can learn from them.

Sebastian has more than 10 years experience building the start-up ecosystem in LATAM. Former Start-Up Chile CEO, where he worked with +1,000 start-ups from all over the world. Also, a public policies consultant for economic development. Previously, he was the founder of AfterBang Chile, a ski clothing company and Domadores TV, a broadcasting platform for journalists.

Prof. Zohar Ben-Asher gained his professional knowledge and skills in Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom, where he also held senior academic positions in Strategic Planning and Management, Business Economics and Methodology. Zohar has also taught at various higher education institutions in Europe, Asia, and America. He has extensive theoretical and methodological research experience and has been a long-standing expert and reviewer for European Framework Programs. Aside from EU & other internationally funded scientific & technological projects, Zohar has been actively involved in planning and management of projects in strategic planning and Sustainable Development, policy formation and government, management, education, methodology and Asian business. He is also co-founder of a Strategic Management & Research firm.

After reaching her retirement age in the Netherlands in 2021, Donna set up her own firm, Donna A Seid Consulting, as a sustainability consultant. Her clients are currently in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and medical devices industries.

Donna has been a mentor in different capacities. Donna has actual “hands-on” experience working within companies, covering a variety of industry sectors, globally, on setting sustainability strategies, targets & goals, and developing programs to achieve them. She has participated in initiatives that impact the entire product lifecycle, from ideation (including packaging), supply chain, operations, logistics, and end-of-life (circular economy). Donna has worked with staff that spans a wide swath of the organization to work together towards common goals and reporting that tie deeply and directly to the overall business strategy.

Santanu is a chartered chemical engineer having 25 years of practice in technology, engineering and project management, and lately as an independent consultant. As an Innovations Consultant, he is currently practicing in areas as Licensing, Consulting & Technology Transfers from research to commercialization. Santanu handles syndicated fund raising, start-up value creation & portfolio management in full life cycles of Life Sciences, Medical Tech, Clean Tech applications.

Experiences include 5 years as Managing Director, Intrapreneur & Start-up Consultant in Frankfurt am Main. He has networked with investors, start-up accelerators, research institutes, research clusters, trade bodies & chamber of commerce in Frankfurt & India.

Katerin Carrillo

Katerin has broad experience as Program Manager and mentor of early-stage social business in Colombia and East Africa, and as co-founder of two organizations in the arts and services sector in Colombia.

As an entrepreneur and during her career, Katerin has developed a broad set of skills to develop early-stage business models with strong focus on social business and impact measurement. She has worked in dissimilar roles ranging from production, marketing, project management, sales, and research. Katerin is highly adaptable, loves challenges and enjoys solving problems hands-on.

Dr. Johannes Wehner

Johannes studied law and chemistry with a strong focus on organic and biological chemistry. In patent law firms based in Munich, Germany, he worked as patent attorney and managing partner. Following his entrepreneurial mindset, Johannes founded his own law firm in greater Frankfurt area, Germany, in 2017.

Johannes enjoys keeping a bigger picture in mind. He practices comprehensive consultancy with international clients regarding their patent and brand portfolio. He strongly believes that regular engagement with inventors supports a creative mindset and keeps his network vivid. Johannes is convinced that close contact to each individual client is the decisive success factor for good IP protection. Clients appreciate his solution-oriented approach to IP and his commitment to provide excellent services. In 2003 Johannes was listed 300 as the World’s Leading IP Strategists in IAM Strategy.

Johannes holds a lecturer position at the University of Frankfurt where he teaches chemistry students the basics of patent law. During his academic career he published multiple papers in prestigious journals such as Chemical Communications and Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry.

We are always looking for new Mentors and Experts with first-hand entrepreneurship experience or/and specific skills in sustainability and/ or business-related topics, for example: Sustainable Chemistry, biotechnology, sustainability management, business development, marketing, IP protection and more.

The program allows you to share your experience and your network, to contribute to the development of a start-up, to nurture young talents, to support the local innovation ecosystem and to develop your own interpersonal skills.
