Electrically Heated Steam Cracker Furnaces (E-furnace)

Replace gas-fired furnaces in steam crackers with electric furnaces is called electrically-fired furnaces. Steam generation through fossile fuels do not meet climate protection criteria. Electrically heated generators (from non-fossile fuel made electricity) as well as biomass-fired burners are an option to minimize the impacts of steam generation on CO2 emissions. Another option is generating steam at day time through concentrating solar systems.
