Chemistry is facing the biggest challenge in its history: Meeting the needs of a sustainable future. What are the challenges for the chemical industry on the way to sustainable development? What needs to change? What are the prospects of sustainable chemistry? And how do we shape the transformation of a 150 year old industry – for the greater good? The International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) addresses these questions on a global scale. Learn more about the ISC3 and its groundbreaking work during the press-lunch on Monday, June 11th at 1pm.

Chemistry is facing the biggest challenge in its history: To meet the needs of a growing population in a world of scarce resources and growing environmental problems chemistry has to reinvent itself to become a key solution provider for a sustainable future. The emerging concept of Sustainable Chemistry offers a new system thinking based approach to transform the more than 150-year-old chemical industry. To promote Sustainable Chemistry innovation worldwide the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) was established in 2017 as a new international, independent institution.

The International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) is a new independent, international institution promoting and developing sustainable chemistry solutions worldwide. As a globally acting independent institution, multi-stakeholder platform and think tank the ISC3 is committed to supporting the global breakthrough of Sustainable Chemistry. With its transformative agenda the ISC3 contributes to achieving the Global Sustainable Development Goals by fostering innovation and enabling new sustainable business models in the chemicals sector.
